Some new babies at the zoo:

Olive baboon (on exhibit with parents)
Squirrel monkey (on exhibit with parents)
Plains bison (on exhibit with parents)
American badger (not sure of exhibit status)
Jaguars (one black, one typical on exhibit in nursery)
 
An updated list of babies, posted on FB:

javelinas (collared peccaries)
wildebeests
zebra (Grants I think)
red river hogs
flamingos
capuchin (species unnamed)
squirrel monkeys
"and others"
 
According to their Facebook page, they are building another new jaguar exhibit and they are "...hoping it is finished in the next two months!"
 
Since forum members are always interested in one-of-a-kind rarities, I thought I would quote a recent FB announcement.
"Did you know? The WWZ has the only white thighed hornbill in the United States?"

Yes, I did know.
Been there - bought the T-shirt - gazed lovingly upon its white thighs.

There are none in Europe, either, so - in zoo terms - this species is so rare that it makes the Iberian Lynx look like common trash :D
 
According to a Facebook post, three black-backed jackals were born and are now in the nursery. It seems this species is becoming a bit more uncommon in the US. I can think of four holders, though the only accredited facility is still Columbus, as far as I'm aware.

They are held at boulder ridge wild animal park and at living treasures animal park boulder ridge may be the only one in the country with side striped jackals please correct me if im wrong.
 
Up until now, the zoo side has been open until 6pm and the aquarium side until 9pm. Due to low evening attendance, the aquarium side will close at 7pm starting in June 2017 (the zoo side will continue to close at 6pm). As a result, the discounted evening only admission is being eliminated.

I am not sure. I know they had a single male white rhino for a long time (at least a couple decades or more) who finally died a few years ago. Their rhino yard was empty for perhaps a year (I may be off on this) and then they acquired another male, but I don't know where he came from or how old he is.
 
Dear AD, I would expect the new rhino male to transfer with the adolescent females out to the new exhibit (even though it cannot be gleaned from any of the published information so far ...).

Yes we would assume so, since this zoo loves to breed as many animals as possible. It could be (I am speculating) that they are leaving him in the old exhibit until the new area opens so current visitors can still see a rhino on their visit.
 
Today (January 27, 2018) was the opening of the expansion to the safari park. A portion of the announcement from their Facebook page:

...the long-awaited, 8-acre expansion will be open for the general public to enjoy! Visitors will now be able to come face to face with the 3 White Rhinos that recently arrived at Wildlife World's new state of the art Rhino facility, after taking a one-way trip from South Africa!
...Other new species making their debut include Hamadryas baboons, striped hyenas, a serval cat, wreathed hornbills, Nile lechwe and many more rare and endangered African bird & hoof stock species, with plans to continue to expand the collection. Wildlife World’s popular Safari Tram’s new route will include the expansion, doubling its length & duration.
