Blackpool Zoo Winter Thread

Id like to start off the Winter thread with some births:
2 Silvery Marmoset's
5 Squirrel Monkey's
1 Pygmy Marmoset
The open top aviary has been demolished;)
And i think that the Colobus Monkey's on the Island Enclosure are being moved on for a new species as at the beginning of the year the group started of as 8 and has now gone down to 2:(

Quick update from my visit today:
I asked a keeper which female Zebra was pregnant and he said Helene but Bette also may be pregnant.
Raman and Summer were seperated off from Cherie and Victoria i asked a keeper why and he said that they were put together in an attempted mating session the keepers had witnessed mating.
Finally saw the Baby Red panda.
And all 3 Lion cubs born in 2009 were all seperated from the rest of the pride maybe moving on?

Which species is this?

Hopefully good news about the zebra :)

No problem :). Well, they've had their gorilla last year, lets hope they can get an orang this year :)

Their male Orangutan 'Raman' is not a very good specimen nor very active breeding-wise. I believe he's intimidated by the older females- certainly by 'Victoria' who is the dominant animal having been there the longest. I heard they have requested another(or additional) male as a better bet for breeding.

Hi as far as I know the cubs are separated because the have just had inplants so they do not become pregnant no signs of moving as yet.
