I've just been watching Harry Potter and I think a dragon would be a great addition (yes, that's sarcasm you can smell).

Can we stop this silly thread now please.

If you follow enough undisciplined/unlucky diabetics you probably see a "hyppo" at the zoo.:D

Would like to see Cacomistles there, don't think any are exhibited in uk collections at present.

Mine would be Vu Quang ox (Pseudoryx nghetinhensis).

And Mr Rowlands when you read this in your office at Chester Zoo,no I cannot help you source them and I know they will never turn up at Chester, but we can all have a dream!!

Another one I've had to look up, but another one that made me go 'wow!' Doesn't happen very often with non-primates round these parts :)

Denis said he would like a Gurney's Pitta. I think this would make a nice addition to the tropical realm as well as some lories.

I would like to see more big cats like a snow leopard maybe a nice walkthrough exhibit with black and white and red ruffed lemurs in (yes like the one in tierpark!) it was amazing and would be an experience for anyone who couldnt get to berlin or anyone visiting chester!! also they need an Aye-Aye and some more exotic rarer birds like the cock of the rock and some more tanagers x

Glad you liked, nice to know something other than a primate can get that reaction from your goodself,I'm sure Tim and the rest of the staff are having a bit of a chuckle over this thread,so you never know I may add a few more strange creatures!!

Well I thought to myself I wouldn't add to this list, but now seeing it as just a bit of fun thought I would give it a shot :)

Madagascan carnivores - hopefully some will find their way into Islands. I just find species like fossa, narrow-striped mongoose and the like really fascinating.

Some small cats - maygay, ocelot, golden cat, fishing cats are some of my faves, but would love to see any :)

Binturongs

Some unusual hoofstock, maybe Impala, gerenuk, a gazelle species, wildebeest, a caprid species.

I know AG would like caracals and more gibbons :p

Thats about it for mammals. Will maybe think of some birds and herps later (I'm sure somebody would agree black caiman would be good ;))

Why not some suggestions for the new islands exhibit, i'm sure Tim and his team would appreciate some help on that one.
