Was up at Wolds today for a short while. Was good to see the leopard in the new enclosure (an experience was going on so he wasn’t out, but it looks a much improved space). The hyenas and bears were active.
I hope the new exhibit for the snow leopard is finished soon as it seems a bit of a shame to have reused the old one for another cat. Couldn’t see where that is going yet.
I assume the new covered eating area is the building between the bears and the tigers - looked to be coming along well.

Is the leopard enclosure to the right of the hyenas? I visited for the first time on Good Friday, but could only see the leopard in a kind of holding pen at the back of the larger enclosure next to the hyenas. A shame I could only see him from a distance as leopards are my favourite!
I agree re. the snow leopard. She spent the majority of the day at the very top of the enclosure, ‘hiding’ on top of the outdoor platform. She still seems very nervous but hopefully in time she will become more assured, and a new purpose built enclosure could make all the difference.
I noticed some type of large marquee in the field behind the cafe area, near the toilets and gift shop. I wondered what it was and when consulting my zoo map, found it to be ‘indoor dining’. Some workmen were doing some work to the path but I could see tables and a high chair inside, so would it make sense for that to be the new dining area? Especially as it is near the main eatery?
Mogli's outside area is not finished yet, they are finishing the fencing and overhang, it will be done within the month.
Aruna (Snow Leopard) will have an exhibit built near the entrance, where there is a big mound, which will be rock themed.
The new covered eating area is the Tepee's by the cafe. The building by bears and tigers will be a classroom, education room, party room and function room.
The fencing and overhang was all in place. It’s a pity as mentioned that the snow leopard is in the old enclosure as it has very little private space.
Peach-faced lovebirds for sure. Popular pet bird.Piece of 2023 News Not Mentioned:

I was speaking to a guy last week and he said they have been waiting for some parts to complete Mogli’s enclosure and expects it to be done in the next couple of weeks. I too am keen to see him up close and get some decent photos. He’s a gorgeous boy.
Aruna, the snow leopard, was quite active last week. She was playing with her hanging toy, ate some of her lunch and then took it up onto the platform and posed nicely for some photos. Then she leapt onto the roof, had a wash and settled down for a dose. She’s a stunning animal and hope they build her a beautiful enclosure.
Are there going to be any other new exhibits/new animals as well as the arrivals mentioned above? I’m quite fascinated in large carnivores species. They have decided to change Mowgli's exhibit, so it may take a little longer. It was gonna be fully netted over, but they have changed this to a Tin overhang with hot wire, as this is more cost effective.
Aruna's new exhibit will be done after the new entrance and visitor centre is complete, and will be on what will be left of the walkway as you walk down to the entrance.
Not my place to say what, but Wolds have 2 new small carnivore species off-show which should be on show at some point this year, and also two new species of Primate also offshow for now.
Work has started on an outside area for the Bearded Saki's, as well as a Parrot exhibit, where you will be able to see them up close.
"Donner" a new female Reindeer has joined the collection to join the other two.
Education room is nearly complete, and may have some reptiles added to it at some stage.
Pumpkin, a Puma, is likely to move down to the holding area currently used by Mowgli, when his main exhibit is complete.
