Woodland Diaries

was going to be doing a lot of birding during the holidays, but after dislocating a kneecap that isn't happening. But at least I've been seeing a young red squirrel, which is especially good as I started to fear they were being driven out by the greys.
Has anyone else seen anything neat recently?
 
Been doing a fair bit of birding lately and have been seeing Eastern Grey Squirrels, Eastern Chipmunks, and Bluejays almost daily. I've also been lucky enough to have been seeing an Osprey, a Bald Eagle, a juvenile Black-Crowned Night Heron, Ring-Billed Gulls, and some Belted Kingfishers fairly regularly. Also have been seeing some cormorants, probably Double-Crested. I also have lots of photos of yet to be identifieds. Saw some Mallards the other day along with some other waterfowl, though my pics might not be good enough to post in order to get them IDed, nor actually get IDed!

Saw acouple of europweean brown hares last week and lots of Green woodpeckers,(sorry EK) also comon buzzards and the usual red legged partridge and pheasants. and grey Squirells a plenty
