Would you believe that I have never...

Why? Everyone is being civil, and we discuss other controversial topics here like global warming, hunting, conservation techniques, wildlife poaching to feed China etc. What's so special about discussing guns?

None of the others have killed millions of people... Yet. Also, gun control is a very hot topic in Congress right now. I agree with jbnbsn as it's quite a sensitive topic and is not to be discussed on this thread. As I've said on other threads, if you want to make a thread about gun control fine by me but keep that stuff off of the threads not designed for that kind of discussion.

Thank you

So, what you're saying is that a topical issue that is being discussed in Congress, is, according to you, sensitive, and should not be discussed byme on a thread started by me? That's some mighty strange logic.

I'm just saying it's a hot issue and considering how many people have been harmed by it. Also, just make a new thread about it.

Hot issues that harm people should be discussed even more to exchange ideas and opinions to hear all sides of the issue.

The only thing that irked me about tschandler's guns was that he used them sometimes for practice on snakes and coyotes, which was far more important an issue than guns in general.

However, I am not fascinated enough by guns and I couldn't care about America's gun laws to start an entire thread about it. Indeed, I don't mind a thread meandering because to me it's the natural evolution of a conversation.

conversations don't evolve, they are created in their entirety by God and are immutable.

. . . to hear all sides of the issue.

Which is why the government never does anything useful.

Stop talking about it and just do something.

Debates are useless because everyone has already made up their mind and has no intention of changing it.

Yes that bothered me as well but I decided to keep my mouth shut.

Please, like jbnbsn said, can we please move back to the topic this thread was designed for. It seems this controversial topic has begun to take over every other thread on here...

Getting us back on topic-
...failed a class in school (not a very good one but I wanted to change the topic).

Nice one, Chlidonias.

Cleusk, an undeleted post? I am impressed! :p Everyone has not made up their mind. Indeed, opinions are often formed from hearing debates, especially when new light is shed on the topic.

Thylo, you can't stick your head in the sand. Today it's guns, tomorrow the hot topic will be gay marriages, yesterday it was terrorism and torture, and in a few years it might be climate change. ;) We will always find something new to be divided about. I failed fluid mechanics, but it was lumped with heat transfer - which I passed - so I passed overall.
