[Rhinopithecus]

Basia (Barborka) was not a pure Baringo but a hybrid. She indeed went to Poznan where she died after a year or so. Now Wroclaw holds only pure reticulata - male from Copenhagen and two females from Frankfurt as well as one from Nurnberg. There is also a baby female born this spring and hand-raised. She is already running together with the group.

It is a major achievement to breed pure-breds and reticulata to that.
(which are far rarer in the wild than previously thought + not so common in zoos worldwide).

Has it been confirmed where the two new bull Indian Rhinos are coming from? I know they're a few bulls which 'could' be contenders for Wroclaw's new Rhinos.

Rhinos are coming from Tierpark Berlin and CERZA Lisieux.
Is the 2nd October sure date of opening? ZOO Wrocław organize contest that winners can get invitations for Indian Rhino's House opening. The contest is finishing on 3rd October. So, I think it cannot be 2nd.

I would have one question to all Polish zoochatters. On the zoo website I have found an interesting information about having Indian muntjacs in the new pavilion. Where do the animals origin from ? I am a little in doubt they are pure Indian. I know about having a "common" Reeves muntjacs, so did not the keepers only relocate their animals into the new enclosure and labeled them inaccurately as Indian ?

In Terai Pavilon Indian muntjac will be shown for sure. I dont remember where they are come from. Maybe from France? Im not sure. Reeves's muntjacs are still in Wrocław Zoo but elsewhere.
Relocating animals and changing a name of the species would be extremely silly

Female pygmy hippo was born a few days ago. It's third C. liberiensis born in Wrocław ZOO since 2009.

Someone underestimate Wroclaw ZOO. Doing a trick with Revees muntiac would be unacceptable. Indian muntiac arrived to Wroclaw zoo from Barcelona and Faunia in Spain. Subspecies unfortunately unknown.
