I have previously suggested animal species that I or we hope to make it in Rainforest Wild Asia and Africa or the other zoos in Mandai.
Hope I can update on this:
Rainforest Wild Africa
Congo: Elephant Shrew, African Pygmy Hedgehog (more likely reveal face and active at night, usually rolled up in spiny ball during daytime), African Pygmy Dormouse, Honey Badger, Striped Weasel, Zorilla, Shoebill Stork (hopefully move there).
Madagascar: Greater or lesser Hedgehog Tenrec or any tenrec species, more chameleon species.
Is South African section possible in Mandai?
Regarding the Great Rift of Ethiopia section in Singapore Zoo, can it expand to Middle East desert zone which can include Asian garden dormouse, spiny mice, jerboas, desert hedgehogs, fennec fox, etc.?
Papua New Guinea section? It is in Bird Paradise. Bring in cuscus?
Australia: echidnas, dormouse possum, quoll, wombat, numbat, bandicoot, platypus ...though it feels weird and missing without koalas now.
River Wonders section can expand to include tropical North America Missisippi and Arizona desert and boulders? Pumas, caracals, bobcats, porcupines, skunks, American badgers, groundhogs, snapping turtles, alligators, hares, road runners, coyotes ... not sure if all fit in the tropicals?
China section besides the Pandas? Monkeys? Not sure if Amur or Chinese hedgehogs fit the tropics? Yellow weasels or storks?
Rainforest Wild Asia: moonrat, gymnures, yellow striped weasel.
Not sure if there are any tropical chipmunks or marmots? The prairie dog is here? I saw the ground squirrels in Ethiopia section.
More hedgehog species from Asia or Africa, or the tropical versions of European critters and rodents?
Asian donkeys, Sphinx cat breeds or domestics not seen in Singapore? A petting zoo section with variety of breeds ... cats, dogs, hamsters, rabbits, hedgehogs, ferrets. Why call it Rainforest Kidz and not Pet Gardens since adults also love small critters? Some are common pets in foreign countries but not in Singapore so this place let Singaporeans see them close.
Hope the Mandai bosses look into these feedback in this chat and consider well.
