Visited today, the Roloways stayed inside and there were barriers placed around the house and covers over the viewing windows which could suggest that the above post is correct. I couldn’t spot the red howlers or the dik-diks (are they still there?) either but aside from that I saw most species. I counted 4 Bush dogs, only 3 giraffes, I think I remember hearing that one had passed, I only saw 2 tigers - Tschuna was in her usual enclosure but Vladimir (I think) was alone in his, obviously Sayan could’ve just been inside but I’ve never really seen them apart. I spotted a maned wolf curled up in a bush which I was pleased about. The female hyena and her son were very active all afternoon, they spent a lot of time chasing around aswell as vocalising with the male who was in the small enclosure at the back. One of the leopards came out which was a surprise because I rarely see them. I do wish you could walk all the way round the side of leopard heights like originally intended. Luka the polar bear was still being kept separate from the other boys. Look North were recording at the park today so the polar bears and some other species were given Christmas themed enrichment and there was a display from the sea lions (led by a keeper who some would recognise from secret life of the zoo). Cheryl Williams was there so I had a chat with her which was nice.
Also, there’s been some work done in enclosures and around the zoo, new ropes in monkey enclosures, new fences etc. There is still a lot of work going on near the entrance way.
