It would be a very bad Idea to put cheetahs in that enclosure. They would be so stressed out having lions all around especially having to share a house with lions. Would look great but far from practical.

I'm still hoping it could be Pallas Cats - is there any evidence that it can't be? I'm not convinced about Cheetah, they don't seem to fit with the theming of the area really, plus YWP have apparently said they're not planning to add any major new species for the foreseeable future.
 
Seems quite big and open for Pallas's cat to me, they usually have more closed in enclosures.
 
Yeah, I'd say from the lack of climbing structures, rocky terrain and openness, it's not Pallas' Cats. Could still be in construction, of course, but most Pallas' enclosures tend to be very tree-based with plenty of climbing structures.
 
Yes it doesn't look very pallasy, it's in a pretty exposed spot for small cats and it's a big space I suspect as it is they would be indoors all day (unless they plant it out and put lots of climbing in). I was thinking perhaps jackals or something before the cheetahs entered stage left.

Which zoo runs the U.K. studbook for Maned Wolves, please? I’ve recently had fantastic viewing at Exmoor & Axe Valley, and fleeting glimpses of the old male at Paignton, who would benefit from some more confident, ‘showy’ individuals when the time is right.
I need to do another YWP trip soon, alongside a Washington WFT and Northumberland Zoo trip.
