I have two, one is not really from 2012 but oh well. It is a female Eurasian eagle owl and the second is a morphed blue-and-yellow poison dart frog.

Okay great do what ever you want I don't care:confused::rolleyes:

Hey, no need to get huffy - I like the post and I genuinely will post later in the year, it's just a bit early for a best of 2012 and the standard here is high so I need all the time I can get to achieve the standard set :)

I took this photo Friday at the Toronto Zoo, I'm pretty happy how it turned out c:

Maybe my favorite, probably (as far as zoo animals), although a few weeks after this I got a lot of cute clouded leopard cubs at Nashville Zoo. Anyway, this is a 9 week black jaguar, one of a litter of two, the other being a typical yellow jaguar. Born at Cat Haven (California) I took a group of four other people from my zoo with me to see them. We got to play on a lawn with them for half an hour for photos - I even got to hold the black one! (Yes the fur is very soft, just like a domestic kitten).

(BTW, before anyone runs out there for a play session, they do not normally do this - I know the owner and he did it as a personal favor to me).

Very cute Arizona Docent! Excellent photo! Have you ever considered making a cat book and using your photos in it? I for one would be sure to buy it!
Ebillan- Nice!

A long term goal, but I still have half a dozen species to photograph (some of which are next to impossible, like bay cat...).

I have a hard time narrowing it down, as I take WAY too many photos. Here are a couple from the past few weeks.

The first is of a Marsh Wren. I had heard quite a few at a lake near my home a week earlier, but had limited time. I went back the next week, set up a chair, and brought some food. I was right in the middle of some kind of plant (millet maybe), and had wrens, along with savannah sparrows calling all around me. Finally a few got brave, and I managed this shot somehow.

The second is of a White-crowned Sparrow (eastern subspecies). Myself and a friend were checking a field where Ammodramus sparrows (Le Conte's and Nelson's) have been known to hang out. While checking the tall grasses, this guys sat about 10 feed away on a dead bush, seemingly unafriad. I took his photo, and it turned out nicely with the colors.

These two are just fillers until more like those already posted come along. Great shots all three wh have posted!

I had a cat website that someone built for me, but I was unable to edit it myself so I am now working on my own. At the moment it just has a main page and all the links say "coming soon" or something like that. You can mark it if you want and I am pretty close to finishing, so hopefully in a couple weeks.

(I learned the web software by building a more general photo site, which is done and active. It has a few cats, but also landscapes and scenery).

Favourite three from 2012... taken a while to choose, but here they are

1) Inca Tern - shot on a first visit to Bristol during July. Never tend have much luck with birds in flight but this was my best shot out of that day...

2) Cheetahs - Who doesn't love an "aaarhhh" moment :p a chance shot whilst KT and son were playing together at Chester

3) Not the best quality picture but I wanted to include a shot of Paignton's Indu and her cubs given that they were certinley one of the highlights of my summer zoo tour. Credit to the person who let on about these cubs slightly earlier so I got the chance to see them. You know who you are ;)
