Your Rules While Visiting a Zoo

1) See everything
2) Stay for ages in front of the amur leopards, even if there is no movement
3) Make sure you see the animals you have never seen before
4) Enjoy myself
5) If someone gets something wrong, correct them :)
My rules are similar:
(1) go alone and try to see everything, if the zoo has Amur Leopard(s) spend at least an hour on that exhibit.
(2) if meeting people get there early to allow at least one hour devoted to observing the Amur Leopard (s) before touring other exhibits as a group
(3) answer questions if people are eager to learn more, no point engaging the ones that show little or no interest
(4) return to exhibits where animals where difficult to see or inactive earlier in the day

I forgot one: If it makes sense, go to the Amur leopards, then the orangutans, because they are always active early in the morning.

Here’s mine.

1. If there is a new animal that I haven’t seen, wait for the crowds to walk off (it’s easy when they don’t see anything in the exhibit) and try to stay calm.

2. Get a toy on the way out

3. Post pictures and information on Zoochat.

For other people traveling with me:
1. Don’t walk with me if you don’t want to go with me at my own pace.
2. No stopping to sit at benches unless it’s for eating.
3. No asking about how long we’re gonna spend there.
4. No asking about when we can leave.
5. Don’t complain loudly about the heat, your aching feet etc.
For myself:
1. Take pictures with camera of every animal you see.
2. If animals are active take video with phone.
3. Get a piece of merch (t-shirt, reusable water bottle, anything).
