Zoo amenities demolished to make way for animal exhibits?

I have noticed that sometimes it happens in the UK that older enclosures of animals will be demolished, and after demolition, are replaced with a non-animal amenity [e.g. flower bed, marquee, fiberglass dinosaur etcetc..]
But I wonder - has it ever happened the opposite way that an amenity in a zoo was demolished to construct an animal exhibit in its place?

The Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha replaced a concession stand by the former Sea Lion Pool that eventually became part of the current Bongo exhibit. The zoo also replaced concessions and restrooms between the old Bear Canyon and Hubbard Gorilla buildings in what eventually became the behind the scenes areas of the current Sea Lion Shores exhibit.

Randers Regnskov did something as unheard as to demolish a playground to build their hyena exhibit. They did construct a new (but noteworthily smaller) playground nearby. I think they wanted to have all the animal exhibits at the perimeter of their outdoor area and the visitor amenities in the middle.
