On April 4th, the zoo announced that (0.0.5) domestic chickens (breed(s) not specified) were hatched. They are currently in the Wieland Wildlife Home and will be available for public view when they get older.

On June 8th, the zoo announced that a (0.0.1) bog turtle was born on May 21st. This is the first time since 1992 that the zoo has successfully bred the species.

On June 15th, it was announced that the zoo acquired a (0.1) wrinkled hornbill from the Los Angeles Zoo in California on an SSP breeding recommendation.

25 eastern indigo snakes reared at Zoo Atlanta are reintroduced to Alabama wild | WRBL
The snakes are Eastern indigo snakes and before the program, had not been seen in the wild in Alabama in around 50 years.
The 25 snakes were reared by Zoo Atlanta and are native to the forest’s ecosystem. The group, released on June 25, 2022, consisted of 13 males and 12 females.
