I would not attribute Yodha's sterotypies in this case to the rhinoceros in the neighboring stable, but rather to the monotony of the environment in which this animal had to live.

Patience, my friend. Don't you know that everything takes a little bit longer in Berlin? Does BER mean anything to you, the never-ending story of the construction of the new Berlin airport? I don't know how many opening dates there were. Well, then you know what you have to be prepared for, as far as the lion house at the zoo is concerned...;)

Seriously, it's supposed to be ready in the summer - the emphasis is on supposedly.:p

But honestly, the zoo is not that badly timed. The new small mammal house in Stuttgart was supposed to open in 2016...;)

Berlin zoo showed its latest addition, a collared lemur named Elodie and her newborn baby, on Wednesday. In video released by Berlin Zoo, the as-yet unamed lemur cub held onto the crook of its three-year-old mother. After its mother, the cub is only the second collared lemur born in Germany. After about 120 days of gestation, the cub was born on 9 April.

They live in Berlin Tierpark not Berlin Zoo. The media often get this wrong, though.

If I would have to speculate, I'd actually say it looks like it may indeed be finished soon. You can see completed structures (walls, floors, ceilings, even some of the indoor exhibits) as well as plants and they even started installing some of the educational equipment. This kind of work usually gets done, when there won't be much more dust etc. So why shouldn't they open in 2021? I'm not quite sure about September, though...

Yes that is the video. The reason I was interested is I am considering rebooking my September flight to Belgium/France/Italy because they are Level 3 on the US CDC and State Dept covid warnings (and also my return from Venice requires an overnight layover in Heathrow which I would like to avoid). Germany is among four or so countries I am considering that are Level 2 or Level 1. However if it is NOT a sure thing that the new cat house will be open (I am going early September), then I doubt I will do Germany.

Early September might be a close call. Of course, you can always write to the Zoo and ask. But I'm not even sure, if they know let alone publish a concrete date.

Unfortunately you aren’t able to see the kiwis at all because of covid now. I haven’t been to the aquarium so don’t know about the tuataras
