I've unfortunately never seen a lion (Don't make fun of me)
And I live where moose occur in the wild. It is interesting the different experiences we all have.I have yet to see an African Savanna elephant or a moose.
Just think what you have to look forward to ,hopefully you won't be disappointed, only joking!!I've unfortunately never seen a lion (Don't make fun of me)
I agree. I wonder if Blair Drummond's singleton will ever move somewhere else.
I guess I have a ton to look forward to considering I haven't seen any animals mentioned on this list. Hopefully, one day I will get to travel the world and visit zoos or at least see a wolf. (I haven't seen those either)Just think what you have to look forward to ,hopefully you won't be disappointed, only joking!!
Seen a proboscis monkey and Asian golden cat for some reason, but not the aboveAnd I live where moose occur in the wild. It is interesting the different experiences we all have.
Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary has one, if you weren't aware. Not a dramatic confession but recently I have been really interested in nocturnal animals and any zoo with a nocturnal house right now automatically feels like a must-see, which is in no objective or rational way the case, but that is what is drawing a lot of my attention right now. This is influencing my trip planning as facilities that used to be lower priority that may relate to this interest are feeling more attractive right now. I think I have a good balance of plans though.
That would be so neat to see those species in the wild. Lucky you! I had the good fortune of seeing iconic African species last summerSeen a proboscis monkey and Asian golden cat for some reason, but not the above
I don't mind them, but am so frustrated that every zoo has to have an Africa section, usually with all of the same animals, i.e., the Lion King effect.I have no interest in most of the African large mammal species. Lions, Elephants, Giraffes- paired with simians which I've never actually cared much for.
It feels like a bit of a stretch to call it a 'nocturnal house', but hey, I took my new profile picture there...Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary has one, if you weren't aware.![]()
How is it not? It's just a small one.It feels like a bit of a stretch to call it a 'nocturnal house', but hey, I took my new profile picture there...
The nocturnal portion of the building is just a hallway with a couple enclosures, and the rest is Otter and Wolf viewing at the beginning and end, if I remember correctly? To me, a 'house' should be a bit more extensive and singularly focused, although I can see your argument for calling it one. It still is a nice building, don't get me wrong. How is it not? It's just a small one.
Both were in captivity, actually. The Proboscis monkey was at the Singapore Zoo, while the cat was at Heidelberg. That would be so neat to see those species in the wild. Lucky you! I had the good fortune of seeing iconic African species last summer
