Zoo d'Amiens Zoo d'Amiens news

Some interesting news : we know for this year that the zoo is building a new large entrance but it started the works for the new savannah area too.
In a post on Facebook, the zoo explained that they started to build in february a complex of two aviaries (for a total of 1 000 square meters with one as a walkthrough) and a reptile house which be be finished this year. The aviaries will welcome marabous, ground hornbill, village weavers, turacos, african spurred tortoises... The reptile house will have snakes, lizards and giant snails.
Other info (a confirmation in fact) is that the future savannah area will focused on northen dry africa (Sahel) so we could expect that Kordofan giraffes will live there (we know already that giraffes will return to the zoo). The new savanna is expected for 2026 and will extend the zoo of 1,5 hectares.
