Zoo de Granby Zoo de Granby news

Why are you saying that Snow Leopard and Red Panda have been "announced in the newsletter" as having had babies?
Sorry for the misunderstood, can you edit the title to 2024 Possible Babies and not Confirmed Pregnancies and also for the 2025 title to 2025 Possible Babies and not Confirmed Pregnancies

Does anyone have an update on when the dholes are expected to arrive/go on exhibit?
I saw someone asking on Facebook when the dholes are coming. They said they were waiting for the news. It has been a long time since Zoo Granby talked about it. Before, they said the dholes were coming in spring but the heath license expired, so they need to reapply. The zoo rarely announces things about the dholes. But when the dholes arrive, they will surely announce. Also, the dholes need to quarantine for 30 days so it might take some time.

Thank you for this! Appreciate it.

Visited Granby again on Monday and had a lovely visit, as usual!

The dhole habitat appears completely ready for animals, as all signage and enrichment are in place. It was disappointing to see this beautiful exhibit all dressed up with nowhere to go! I hope the dholes will be on exhibit soon.

Not much else to report, other than it was a beautiful, crowded day and all the animals except the giraffes and hippos [the latter of which had the option to go out] were outside, a rarity for Quebec in March!

I am excited about the dhole exhibit. I predict that they are going on exhibit on May 28, dhole day.

On Thursday 21 March, Zoo Granby announced the arrival of the Maple, from the Greater Vancouver Zoo. Zoo de Granby
Maple will breed with Crimson, the female red panda. Crimson had another male, named Kelly from Cincinnati Zoo. But they failed. They also announced that Kelly will leave for another institution in Canada. Kelly will leave next month(see screenshot)

Edit: This was already announced a few months ago but this is the official announcement.

Well, you were faster than me, lol I wanted to post the news. Finally, the dholes have arrived after 2 years the announcement. Some people say it is a hyena but there isnt a habitat for them, so it is sure that it is a dhole.

Two 2-years-old male dholes have arrived from Haute-Touche in France, they are still waiting for five females from the US in the next weeks, according to Facebook.
I am surprised that the males came from France, which means new genetic into NA. The zoo previously said they would acquire 4 females, having a 5 females is better.

Do you know if the two males are related or do they represent two new genetic lines?
Well at the end of the video, they say they are brothers. The zoo might announce it later
Edit: Got some new info: Females will come near mid-April. It is confirmed that they are brothers, they will be 2 years old on April 30
