I thought I was hallucinating that there were two Japanese macaque babies during my visit in August. The zoo said there were two baby Japanese macaques that were born. One is called Sayuki, and the other one is unnamed. At the beginning, I said to myself "Uhh another one, then I thought maybe it was the same one" but I was wrong.

The Zoo just announced that their director is taking their retirement after 12 years at the Zoo. Paul Gosselin has contributed to a lot of projects, including the indoor facilities for rhino and hippo, the opening of the water slides, the australia walk-through and the creation of Mission Faune. They are finding a new director.

The Zoo announced that they castrated their male yak named Duke because they do not want to expand their group for the moment and they do not want to have inbreeding, since he lives with his sisters.

The three white rhinos have finally been introduced together after 6 months of protected contact.

Le mâle K.C. a pu approcher, pour la toute première fois, les femelles Alice et Hazina, au terme d'un processus graduel et bien orchestré. BRAVO d'ailleurs aux techniciens du secteur Samuel, Geneviève et Megan pour une introduction réussie à tous les niveaux! The Zoo Granby announced in the newsletter that their three snow leopard born last year, Bao, Nima and Raya, will be moving to another zoo. This weekend will be the last one to see them. They will be moved to the Parc Safari (mentioned by me in the Parc Safari thread)

Carl the red-necked wallaby has arrived at the Zoo Granby from the Cape May County Zoo. I believe he is here to be the new breeding male.(Zoo Granby responded in the comments.)

The zoo nominated Martin Cloutier as their interim deputy chief executive to help Paul Gosselin transition out of the zoo management until December 31, 2025. Starting from the 1st January of 2026, Martin Cloutier will serve as the interim president of Zoo Granby until they find an official president. Now that Paul Gosselin has retired, he will act as a strategic advisor for the administration team.

Chad, Emi and Koussi the three rock hyrax has arrived from the Calgary zoo in June. Chad has been fitted with a contraceptive in order to prevent inbreeding with his sisters(The zoo says he lives with 2 females, which are his sisters. I believe that the former individuals passed away last year.
