Paris Vincennes seems to have been pairing up animals of various species or social groups for breeding (bearded saki, bat-eared fox, white rhino, Caribbean manatee)
Yes it happened to one of the 2 first male Manatees in 2014.Didn’t one of the original manatees drown in the pool?
Thank you, I wasn’t sure when it happened but IIRC it was quite soon after they opened. Did they make amendments to the pool to ensure this didn’t happen again?Yes it happened to one of the 2 first male Manatees in 2014.
Barry le lamantin est mort noyé - Zoo de Vincennes
It is likely. The (re)opening year of Vincennes has been difficult because this zoo has been closed and entirely redone for 6 years, the acclimatization of a large collection of new animals has been complicated. Moreover the Vincennes Zoo (nor the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle that runs the zoo) hadn't any experience on Manatees and on large greenhouses with animals in the past.Thank you, I wasn’t sure when it happened but IIRC it was quite soon after they opened. Did they make amendments to the pool to ensure this didn’t happen again?
Hi is there a complete list of all animals that reside at Paris Zoological Park?
I am sure that given the large animal collection. there must be more noteworthy events and new births and hatchings happening at Paris Bois de Vincennes Zoo?The straw-colored fruit bats colony saw the birth of 7 animals since June.
