I am wondering what other commercial activities/events you have had at your local zoo?

I saw this advert for Knowsley Safari Park that they are having a drive-in movie showing (fab idea :D) especially a classic like Planet of the Apes, and wondered what other events etc have been tried?

AND Safari Park Drive-In: Planet of the Apes - Eventbrite

I have seen extra events within the zoo, I once accidently attended a food fare in Marwell Zoo, and other zoos have had art exhibitions of animal paintings/photography for sale.

When I was at London Zoo a few weeks ago, the area where they do the Animal Displays had some sort of Cookery competition/event going on, complete with T.V. cameras and live applauding audience.

I've nothing against such events- Zoos need all the cash they can bring in by whatever means- as long as they don't cause unnecessary disturbance to the rightful residents(the animals). Colchester could hold Fake Rock building displays, or have Rat hunting days....:D

Is that what they are calling the new walkthrough Lemur area- a 'Mountain'? Surely it used to be called White Tiger Valley.. does this mean the fake rock machine will be working overtime?;)
