True! A very noteworthy breeding achievement. I believe they had only recently acquired these (I think I visited the place in 2019.

On 19th of July, a South American sea lion was born in Heidelberg Zoo. It is a female and she has been given the name Yuna. She will stay behind the scenes with her mother Kelo for the next few weeks, where she can learn to swim.

I hope the smaller monkey species is going to be either the Roloway meerkat or the white-naped mangabey, as both those species are already present in the zoo in inadquate enclosures.

The female Asian golden cat that was imported from Indonesia by Tierpark Berlin last year has moved to Heidelberg. Here she will be paired with the resident young male (who was born in Wuppertal in 2022). The male imported from Indonesia last year is still in Berlin and is being paired with the females who arrived from Wuppertal.
