Zoo Jobs

I was thinking it might be interesting if we had a thread of available jobs in zoos and animal parks in the UK. Jobs don't need to be working directly with animals and could include roles such as education officers etc.

If anyone is aware of any vacancies they could post them on here.

The idea of this bothers me.

A advert from Zoo Jobs listed above.

Job Title: Sea Lion Intern (Unpaid)

Organisation: Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park

A for profit organisation that can have unpaid staff on site doing very similar if not identical duties of paid staff.

This is accepted and allowed in the UK?

It seems to be taking off, after the American style of internship. They aren't permanent - just for a year. Can't make up my mind how I feel about it

I get the feeling this is shadowing a keeper/trainer to gain experience rather than being given full responsibilty for the welfare of the animals.

It reads as it will be moving onto responsible positions
