Quite pleased about the Musk Deer news, as this taxon is hanging on in Europe by the skin of its teeth! Any successful breeding is a damn good thing in my opinion.
The "Bear-Castle", built in 1929, has been reopened as a great playground illustrating the evolution of the vertebrate in 6 sections.
The old bear cages backstage were refurbished. The visitors are allowed to run through the subterrestrial galleries as part of a "time-tunnel". The zoo is using this space to inform about the long history of bear husbandry at the zoo in terms of boards and posters.
