A Crowned lemur (Eulemur coronatus) was born to CLYDE and AMBER at Gondwanaland.

The Crowned lemur born to CYLDE and AMBER is female and got the name CHLOE.

Three Giant otters born on May 20th to 6 year old dam EMILIA.

The reopening of Gondwaland, the elephant house, Pongoland and so on is scheduled for the following weekend.

A female Sumatran orang utan (*2012) arrived from Neunkirchen Zoo. She will travel to a zoo in asia together with Leipzig born male SUAQ (*2009) next month.

Northern koala female MANDIE (*at Gosford/Australian Reptile Park/New South Wales in 2017) gave birth to her first baby 4 months ago - the offspring is doing fine in her pouch. Sire is OBI OBI (*at Plackendael in 2013).

Mother of the new baby is 13 year old Monifa and this is already her 8th young.

Giant sable antilope died after being chased by zebras.

Elephants from the Tierpark Berlin are expected, it has already been officially announced. Giant sable antilope died after being chased by zebras.

Tragic, but nothing new. Zebras are not known as antelope killers for nothing. Such incidents happen too often that the zoos still publicize them. Otherwise there could get criticism of this form of socialization. So they accept it, and that's the end of the matter.

By the way-it was a Scimitar horned oryx, not a Giant Sable Antelope.

Two female Southern African porcupines were born.

A new female Pygmy lori arrived.

Unfortunately already in spring this year two Chineses pangolins died - so the zoo still keeps 1,1.
