Zoo Miami Zoo Miami 2011-2015

It's too bad that I won't get to see the cub tomorrow when I visit the zoo. I've never seen a baby lion before.

Also does anyone know if Zoo Miami still has sloth bears rotating with the Asiatic black bear and if so what time they are on exhibit?
 
I know Carlita the White Tiger & Tevy the female Malayan Tiger died & I know Hati the male Malayan Tiger was sent out, but where did they send Hati to? Also, where did Berani the male Sumatran Tiger arrive from, I know a female Sumatran named Leeloo is coming in from Oklahoma City
 
The Sloth Bear and Asiatic black bear are still rotating. There is 0.1 Sloth bear and 1.0 A.B.Bear. The sloth bear has access to the exhibit in the morning, usually until around 1 and then the A.B.Bear is put on exhibit for the remainder of the day and the Sloth Bear is off exhibit. Typically the Sloth Bear likes to sleep around the back side of the rock work (if your familiar with the exhibit) by the shift door, so they have a Bear viewing area along the side of the exhibit because of that. Its usually the best, if not the only, way to view the Sloth Bear. The A.B.Bear is usually a bit more active but can also be found sleeping all around the exhibit too.
 
Lioness, Asha, died today due to a massive infection that effected her organs leaving 3 1/2 month old Kwasi motherless. The zoo isn't sure if they will try to intergrate him with his mother and aunt, hand rear him or send him off to another zoo. The Miami pride just isnt having a good time right now. First they lose Kashifa's litter, minus Zuri, then Kwasi struggled to survive and now that he's fit his mother dies and the zoo faces the possiblity of having to give the cub to another zoo for his well being. I would guess joining half sister Zuri and her new pals Luke and Leia might work or going to San Diego to be with Ken and Dixie also being hand reared could do. Other lions with litters about the same age would be Naba at the National Zoo, Kiki in Atlanta and Kaya at Reid Park. There might be more.
