They did. The couple of other places with the species have been getting out of them because of African Safari being difficult.
 
This news is from September 2021 but still worthy of a mention. A wild-born Southern Hairy-nosed Wombat was quarantined at Adelaide Zoo and exported to Zoo Miami. He is to be paired with female Adelaide. He is of course unrelated to all the North American wombats and if he breeds will add a much-needed boost for the regional population: Wombat Flies Around the World to Find Love - The Animal Facts
