after recently seeing a family's collection of Mold-A-Ramas they have collected from Minnesota, Illinois, and Wisconsin, and knowing that I have a smaller (4 or 5) figurine collection myself, I began to wonder what places in the United States, Specifically zoos have that currently mold-a-ramas. while looking at older posts I kept hearing that some zoos used to have them, but I do not care about them, I care about what zoos have now. after looking at the official website It has come to my attention that only 7 places have Mold-A-Ramas left below is a list of what locations still have a Mold-A-Rama machine

  • Milwaukee County Zoo (12) (possibly more because the website lists some of the animals, and being that this is my local zoo and I come all the time, I know there were some other animals not mentioned, and also some holiday them molds)
  • Brookfield Zoo (12)
  • Como Zoo (4)
  • field museum (6)
  • Henry Ford Museum (10)
  • museum of science and industry (9)
  • San Antonio zoo (8)

I'm visiting Como this week and forgot about the Mold-A-Ramas- so excited!! Do you happen to recall what price they are? I'll need to pick up one of each... I might have a Sparky somewhere already. I need to check my trinket cabinet.

I was able to find a few on Ebay from zoos not listed in the OP:
  • An elephant MAR from St. Louis Zoo
  • Five from the Henry Vilas Zoo; An elephant, polar bear, koala, and two lions- brown and yellow respectively
  • Koala MAR from the Lowry Park Zoo; found a giraffe as well
  • A see/hear/say monkey MAR from the Richmond Metro Zoo
This is far from a comprehensive list- just some I'm seeing when I scroll through "vintage mold a rama zoo" on ebay. I get the impression that Brookfield for sure has/had the widest variety over the years.

I am pretty sure zoo Miami has Mold-A-Ramas because I saw some when I visited march this year
I have a tyrannosaurus rex, a tiger, and an otter

I got a quartet of dinosaurs as a child at the Field Museum (they’re long gone now), and after discovering these were still around a few years back I’ve been making a point to get at least one each time I’ve come across them. My collection:

Field Museum: red T. rex, green sauropod
Brookfield Zoo: green lion, silver sea otter, white penguin
Oklahoma City Zoo: purple red panda, red flamingo
San Antonio Zoo (where I’m waiting for lunch as I type this): blue hippo

The hippo didn’t exactly speak to me in the way the others have, but I wasn’t going to leave here empty handed.

The OKC ones are technically Mold-A-Matics and I’m not really sure what the difference is, they’re the exact same thing lol

I've got a black koala and a gray stingray from the Milwaukee County Zoo. I've got a green tractor and a white space shuttle from the science and industry museum (along with the train and the sub that are still there)

Milwaukee County Zoo's hippo MAR, currently listed on the official MAR website, is- as far as I could tell anyway, as of 6/29/24- unavailable as the hippo area is undergoing pretty extensive construction.

I did just finish a vacation to Chicago and the Milwaukee County Zoo and came home with fifteen new models. Much to my horror I discovered I had dropped my would-be sixteenth, a white stegosaurus from the Field Museum, in the bathroom while I was changing into my "road trip" shorts. I emailed their lost-and-found customer service though and they found it! So that should be arriving soon. Brings my collection from a measly 4 to a total of 20.

after finding another mold-a-Rama company called Unique Souvenirs which they have similar machines called mold-a-Matic, I discovered a few more locations including...
  • Wonderworks (2)
  • Gatorland (2)
  • Oklahoma City Zoo (8)
  • Zoo Miami (12)
  • Central Florida Zoo (4)
  • Busch gardens (13)
  • ZooWorld (2)
  • Weekee Wachee springs (2)
  • manatee viewing center (2)
  • icon park (1)

Former keeper at OKC Zoo. I heard the screams of kids grabbing those hot plastic things out of the machine while I shoveled elephant poop.
