Zoo Berlin is currently at 1063 species according to the 2022 annual report, which means it is now below Plzen, which had 1150 species/taxa at the end of 2022.

Wroclaw zoo writes on its main webside - "over 1100 species", do we know exact figures?

Not at all apparently. There are no exact figures, but they speak on their own website about "more than 700" and the species count on Zootierliste is only just over 500.

I know, that's maybe where the difference lies between 500+ and 700+, but i used it just to illustrate that they aren't reaching the 1000 species yet.

I counted 1137 species last time I was at Shedd a few years ago, and that umber of course only includes things that were on exhibit - no doubt that there is at least a few hundred more behind the scenes.

At the end of 2021 Wrocław Zoo has 1036 species. I don't have more recent data, but I don't think the number of species has increased. Rather, it has decreased a bit.
