Does anyone know anything about this park? I just learned about it's exitance through an aquintance.
 
Safari Świerkocin is the only safari in Poland.It is located in west Poland near to german border and Berlin. Area 20 ha. Telling the truth is nothing special. Safari part is divided into four section: South America, Africa, Mongolia and Asia. Ungulates only, rather common species, no predators (white lions are in walking part). In this section also typical species: meerkats, raccoons, dingo, some birds, domestic animals plus amusements for children. All together 37 species of mammals and 22 species of birds. Zoo rather limits its activities because of financial problems (only 36.000 visitors last year). Look at their website www.zoo-safari.com.pl (also in english and german) but it is out of date – several species mentioned there disappeared from zoo.
 
Thanks Arek. Actually I heard that they'd had a few rough years but they were now quite well off financially. Could be misinformed of course.
 
Unfortunately yes. And we'll lost the only real safari zoo in Poland (there is also drive-through section in Bałtów Park). In Poland we have also Zoo Safari Borysew, but despite its name it is classic zoo for pedestrians (btw. this zoo bought most animals from Świerkocin).
 
On zoo website we can read: "Currently the Safari Zoo is closed to 30.3. 2018. Due to renovations, planned from June this year." But I doubt they will open zoo next year.
