woohoo zoo tycoon is great!! Shame theres not bigger maps or more animals....... doubt there will be any more.
 
Anyone know where I could get my hands on Zoo Tycoon 2?
 
Do i need to register on Zoo Tycoon Volcano, in order to get the foliage (allows you to overlap plants/trees) hack? Where did you get the download for the Clouded Leopard? And thanks markun. :)

After seeing markum's photos in Flickr, I may have to buy it after all. I have Zoo Tycoon 1, but have not played in a while.

yes, if you register you can download these things and much more. I think the clouded leopard might be zoo tycoon abc, but i'm not sure, I'm not very good at keeping a record of where I got things I'm afraid.
 
Quick question to anyone who uses the aviary;

does it require Marine Mania to run? I have MM, but it's not installed at the moment and whenever I attempt to place an aviary roof the game crashes
 
I love Zoo Tycoon, but haven't played it in years! I have just bought it and the endangered species pack off ebay, so I'll be up an playing in a few days time! :)
 
I don't think you need MM for the aviary, I'm not sure why the game crashes when you add the roof...

Thanks anyway Markun. It does seem to work normally with MM

I hadn't played this game in 18months until I saw your pictures and now it is dragging me back in!;)
 
I still play ZT 1 and 2, almost every day and sometimes ALL day :rolleyes:

I do have some gripes with it, such as the "large" maps are not large enough (whereas they go on seemingly forever in the original), and that there are not enough species and members of species represented (example-we've got three types of raptor, but no sauropod or gallimimus-type dinosaur! wth...).

I wish that EVERY species from the original were available in ZT2 too, along with some of the amusements, like the carosel. It doesn't make sense-why bring some over but not the rest?

Still, great game tho :D Even better than Lemmings...

Well, I have been tempted out of that now. I want to download the arabian nights pack to start, but It won't download- is it because I have extinct animals?

Also, could you give me some instructions on how to download?
 
I think Arabian nights is an exec file so you just follow the instructions for it to install but I might be wrong. i think someone has said how to download further down in this thread

If Markun is correct in that it is an .exe file, just download the .exe to your documents. Once it has been downloaded, double click the .exe to run the installation programme and follow the instructions in that. The installation programme creates the .z2f file and there should be an option of where you want the .z2f file saved. It needs saving to the Zoo Tycoon 2 folder in your program files (C: > programme files > microsoft games > zoo tycoon)

If it is already a .z2f file when you download it, just save straight to the Zoo Tycoon 2 folder.

n.b when you download, it may be in a zip file. Just save the zip file to a folder in your documents (I used one named ZT2) and copy the relevant file inside it to the correct location (the zoo tycoon folder)
