According to zoo facebook, owls were transported to non-exhibitionary aviaries, so their old (and terrible) cages could be demolished, new exposition is planned (in the same place, I guess)

Well those off-show and temporary are maybe bigger and seem to me nicer than these old exhibits...

Zoo wants to build new corridor for its tapirs (so they could finally use outdoor paddock)
From september to october is running a fundraising campaign with intention to collect 120 thousand crowns (cca 4 200 €).
So far a little more than 40 % was collected.

Recently male hybrid Orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus) Ferda was euthanised, he was the oldest male orangutan in Europe and the last Hybrid orangutan in Usti.

A northern white-cheeked gibbon baby born 2 days ago. Also a southern three-banded armadillos have a fresh baby.

Sad news - Ronja (19) Angolese lioness had to be euthanised due to progressing cancer. The only remaining lion at the zoo is her brother Leon.

The zoo has a sloth baby. I haven´t seen it announced by the zoo yet but a visitor published a photo this weekend.
