The parents of the 2005 litter were

Carlos - born 2001 at Berlin Tierpark

Tornade - Born 12 August 1997 at Obterre, France

Tornade went to Parken, Sweden in early 2008. She's now a mum again after having a male cub in April 2010. His name is Wayan and his father is Bagus from the litter born 3rd April 2007 at Stuttgart

Carlos went to Stuttgart in 2006 and sired the 2007 litter there with a female called Dumai (born 17.4.00 at Dudley)

Is it intended for Daseep to remain at Wuppertal for the forseeable future(hence Wuppertal going back into Sumatrans) or will she be moved elsewhere depending on EEP recommendations?
 
As far as I know it she will leave the zoo together with the young amur tigress. But when, I dunno.
 
has anyone seen the hummingbirds/manakins in the free-flying section of the birdhouse? And the black-headed ducks in the large pond at the beginning of the zoo?
 
Last time I was in Wuppertal I have seen the black-headed ducks. Unfortunately the free-flying section of the birdhouse was closed for breeding purposes.

Another gorilla born to "Vimoto" and "Ukiwa". The little one is going to be send to Wilhelma Stuttgart like "Grace's" baby last week.
 
Three bonobos from Wuppertal were shipped to La Vallee des Singes (Romagne) in France.

5,2 animals remain at Wuppertal, "Mato". "Lusambo", "Birogu". "Ayubo". "Azibo", "Eja" and "Muhdeblu".
 
Good news for Yellow-backed duiker. I new male from the USA is coming in the following weeks.

Just came back form a trip to several zoos in Rhein-Ruhr area and really enjoyed Wuppertal. So many interesting species, many young animals, nice area and exhibits and not overcrowded.
 
Two yellow-backed duiker arrived from the US to join the last two females in europe (9 and 11 years old at Wuppertal and Nuremberg). The new ones are supposed to be co-housed with okapis.
 
Zootierliste states that only 1.1 little penguins remain, and that the rest had died of tuberculosis. A few pages ago (on this thread) aspergillosis was mentioned as a more likely issue. Is tuberculosis becoming common in penguins nowadays?

Me too. I know that misdiagnosis of aspergillosis (as tuberculosis) is not uncommon in humans; or maybe something was just lost in translation from zootierliste. Either way, the colony has suffered a massive loss and I hope the two survivors are coping well.
