Some news I've learnt during my today's visit...
- Although the lion rescue centre is opening in June, there are already some of the rescued lions being kept off show.
- I spotted a white-faced saki youngling holding on to it's mother.
- There are some little Patagonian maras too.
- It seems like the Brazilian porcupines have left the Yucatan pavilion. Instead of them there are capuchinbirds and aracaris.
- There are at least three great barbets kept off show.
- There are plans on opening a new Indian restaurant next year in the place of the former smoking area near the gaur exhibit.
- I could not spot any of the spotted wood owls and the sign from their aviary has disappeared too. Instead of them there is a pair of some fowl, but both of the birds were very shy, so I didn't see them properly...
And I have a question - does anyone know where the bear born in 2022 currently is? Is he still in the zoo? I haven't seen him since September.
