Views were good but a bit distant because of where the viewing area has been set up. I probably saw two adults, the young are still in the burrow and due to fledge sometime next week. Hopefully the weather wont stop them being successful, the last time i saw a bee-eater in the uk was the last time they successfully bred in durham
 
These are the current rankings, as provided in the thread. I suspect not everyone has kept their totals up to date however (I know zooboy28 hasn't, for one). I went back as far as the start of April. Anyone who hasn't posted after that isn't on the following lists.

Thanks for reminding me, might be another couple of weeks away though. Should move up a couple of places though - especially on the mammals!

There are actually four adults at the site, the breeding pair plus two 'helpers'. This gradually became apparent a week or so ago. But you usually only see one or two of them at a time. ;)

Add me to the ranking! I'm on 129. You will find this funny: I am having some issues with my birding app exporting my list. There's a lot of duplication and manual sorting I need to do get a proper list of species and location, but the tally of 129 is correct.

Yeah, found Green Tree Frogs when I was in Bourke. I didn't count them because amphibians bore me. And a lot of the Aussie frogs are quite variable in their markings, I have a hard time getting a positive ID so I don't go looking for them.

have you found time to get to the Botanic Gardens to look for night herons yet?

Oh, and where was zebra finch? I didn't realise they were found round there? I've never seen an Australian zebra finch (only Timor ones).

Alas, we have not. We drive into the city every day for work, so the last thing we want to do is drive back in on a weekend. :D The plan is to incorporate the Botanic Gardens jaunt into a bigger, weekend city excursion. Earlier this year we made the weekend trek to see the Koel in the Gardens, but we couldn't find it.

I've arrived in Florida today so hopefully my yearlist and maybe even my lifelist grows a little bit.

In addition to those birds, I saw a couple plovers but since it was dark out when I saw them I only got a slight look at them and one photo that barely even has the bird in it.

If you can identify them - even if only a brief glimpse - you can count them.
