The mouse from number 14 has been identified, it's a Bank vole.
As already thought I had forgot some ( some very common ones.... )
15 Rabbit
16 European hare
17 Hedgehog
18 Red fox

Now to try to ignore the inevitable post to come from robmv, who has also seen all of the above and has, along with our other companions, another day of Yorkshire birding to go, while I'm back to work tomorrow... ;)

Happy to oblige!

Last night I got very cold indeed. I also saw some bats.

These two are linked.

I went along to fetch-and-carry-and-try-not-to-get-in-the-way ( :D ) on a harp-trapping project run under licence by professional bat ecologists within the county bat conservation group, checking potential swarming sites and taking species, morphometric and reproductive data from trapped bats before sending them wheeling safely off into the night sky.

Which is all well and good (if rather chilly last night!) but in terms of this thread - it also meant an opportunity to see some Myotis up close and get their ID confirmed in hand, with much examination of traguses, nostrils and genitalia. So I can now add:

41. Whiskered Bat - Myotis mystacinus
42. Natterer's Bat - Myotis nattereri

We also had Daubenton's, which are already on the list. There were rather fewer bats than the previous surveys here, but the sudden drop in temperature yesterday may well have something to do with that.

It was a fascinating evening though - if anyone has an interest in bats, find your lcoal group - I've really been enjoying it this year.

A couple of nice additions from a day on the North Wales coast:

206. Black-necked Grebe (Podiceps nigricollis)
207. Grey Phalarope (Phalaropus fulicarius)

Lots of other interested birds about too: thousands of Common Scoters (though I couldn't pick out the reported Surf Scoter among them), lots of Red-throated Divers and really good views of a Cetti's Warbler at RSPB Conwy.

568) Black-fronted tern Sterna albostriata
569) Californian quail Callipepla californica
570) Little owl Athene noctua
