Fantastic day at Slimbridge today, with a suitably Slimbridgey haul of new species (all are Slimbridge except the cattle egret, which was nearby at a village called Saul and was my first UK sighting, and the deer, which was a roadside spot on the way down).

Firstly, a welcome bonus in the car park when I left a meeting in Milton Keynes during the week:

Then a diversion to Sandwell Valley on the way to Twycross yesterday:
123. White-fronted Goose (Anser albifrons)

The final batch may bear a certain resemblance to the previous post ...

does your neighbour have a pet bobcat or something? You seem to see bobcat frequently. I thought they were supposed to be difficult.

It's funny you mention that. I've had, maybe, two Bobcat sightings in my entire life until recently. Now within the past few months I've had five sightings! And two of them have been very clear views in the middle of the road. Not sure why I'm seeing them so often all of a sudden as they are suppose to be very difficult.

does your neighbour have a pet bobcat or something? You seem to see bobcat frequently. I thought they were supposed to be difficult.

Another reason is probably the same which has lead me to see opossums and skunks more often than in previous years: I live in a very rural and nature dominated area and my current weekly schedule leaves me driving around at relatively early and late times in the day.
