* A Lifer for me ( both in the wild and in captivity ! ) and a very rare bird in the Netherlands. It was seen for the first time in Januari 2014 and the bird I observed today at Den Helder is only the second of its species in the Netherlands.It was already seen on Februari 19 ( see this clip :) but for me today was the first time I had the time to make the travel of about 150 kilometers to Den Helder.
To find the bird was actually quite easy, a group of about 20 - 30 birders were standing together in front of the bird

* I was very pleased with this one because it was only the third time I saw the species in the wild. A small feral population is living in the Netherlands ( about 70 pairs ) and I saw my first pair about 6 - 7 years ago. Then it took untill last month when I saw again a pair near Tilburg but because of the traffic I wasn't able to stop my car, so no photo's
. Earlier this week I was again at the same spot but now I went by foot into the "Black swan-area" and soon discovered the pair and was able to make my first photo's of them in the Netherlands .
A productive day on the Yorkshire Coast at various locations gave me some nice ones (even if at the first location I only saw a couple of very common birds!):

A day trip to a large reservoir today added a fair few species with a nice mixture of late winter birds and early summer birds, despite the lack of a scope preventing the identification of many of the flocks of ducks further from the shore.
