Were the small mammals live-trapped or just seen randomly, and do you have photos?

The Kaluta has one of the best scientific names ever.
The Dunnart and Kaluta we found road-cruising; False-Antechinus in a crack at Weano Gorge in Karijini.

Only got pics of the first two. The Dunnart might turn out to be Stripe-faced (will have to double-check later; still on the road).

For the fish, I'm currently up to 49 lifers this year, for inverts the count is 17, 4 reptiles, 64 birds, and 9 mammals.

There probably won't be anymore additions to the fish list as my time on Christmas Island has come to an end and on Tuesday I return to Sydney. My bird list, however, should double before the end of the year.

And it's my 10 year ZooChat birthday today.

:p

Boo, and woo-hoo! (Both at the same time I imagine).

And it's my 10 year ZooChat birthday today.
Happy decaversary! (My latest made-up word).

After a very slow day today:

Birds (non-passerines)
362. Stubble Quail

Birds (passerines)
363. Pilbara (Striated) Grasswren
364. Australian Reed-warbler

Looks like I counted Western Ringtail twice, so still on 65.
Reptiles
65. Perentie (Varanus giganteus)

Another day at the coast brought me a very nerve-racking, but very rewarding twitch! This bird is only the 5th ever accepted field record in Belgium, and was originally found yesterday (when I unfortunately couldn't go) and couldn't be found at its original spot early in the morning, when me and a friend were some of the first people to attempt to find it again. Eventually it was found again in a different spot however, where we had excellent views and where it even flew on top of our car!
A few moths in the evening (including a very rare one!) made the day even better, of course.

BIRDS:
318) Paddyfield warbler, Acrocephalus agricola*

INVERTS:
80) Defoliating hemlock moth, Agonopterix alstromeriana
81) Large wainscot, Rhizedra lutosa
82) Setaceous Hebrew character, Xestia c-nigrum
83) Large yellow underwing, Noctua pronuba

*In my last post I stated #318 was yellow-browed warbler, but today it was publicized that the ring-necked duck (#200) I saw earlier this year hasn't been accepted, and turned out to be an escapee. That species thus doesn't count, and has been subtracted to make my total 318 again.
