Spent yesterday birding around the Dearne Valley - very pleasant day and lots of birds but I couldn't track down anything new for the list. Today I went to the zoo (Hamerton) and managed two new wild birds. Such is wildlife!

(to be fair, anyone who's visited Hamerton will know it's almost unthinkable to go there and not see wild Red Kites..!)

Attempted to twitch something for the second time ever in my life (an Isabelline shrike which has been reported since a little while now) and dipped for the second time (after I dipped a Lesser flamingo at Oued Souss last month) but had an amazing time with the icing on the cake being one REALLY long-awaited lifer!
