ZooChat Big Year 2019

Winton Wetlands, a 8,500ha wetland restoration project about 3 hours north of Melbourne. I only had about an hour for birdwatching.

281. Red-rumped parrot (Psephotus haematonotus)
282. White-winged chough (Corcorax melanorhamphos)

I've done a few wildilfe-y things lately, icluding a search of nocturnal creatures (great for owls, less so for mammals) and a fantastic birding day in the Biesbosch which unfortunately did not yield any new birds for the year list. I've got a week of wildlife-ing ahead of me, so I hope I'll get a few more species then.

Well, it seems like fall has started! The first rarity of the fall migration has been found, so just like last year's greenish warbler I figured I had to go take a look!

BIRDS:

639) Western Bonelli's warbler, Phylloscopus bonelli

After the warbler a friend and I went to some fields to look for interesting water birds and I found a cattle egret, which was exciting (but not new for the year).

Benelux: 189

Well, someone says that who changes idea is intelligent.
If it's true, I'm incredibly intelligent.
From now, also the non-native birds I'm going to see will be added to a list (with a *).
This new rule won't be valid for mammals and other animals.
So, here we go.

56. Rose-ringed parakeet * - Psittacula krameri

57. Canada goose * - Branta canadensis

58. Egyptian goose * - Alopochen aegyptiaca

59. Mute swan * - Cygnus olor

60. Red-crested pochard (seen in Hyde Park, London) * - Nettia rufina

61. House crow * - Corvus splendens

Fishes

64. Five-spotted wrasse (Symphodus roissali)

61. House crow * - Corvus splendens

As soon as you posted this list I knew it was in either St James's Park or Hyde Park, because during the week I live right next to them.

wher did you se the house crow

Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

So guys, I'm in a conflict with two animals which I'm hating because I can't identify them.
One is a falcon which I identified for first as a Pallid harrier, then as a Eurasian marsh harrier (which for now is cancelled from the list, but the situation probably will change. This is the last animal I eliminate from my checklists), and now as a Montagu's harrier, the second a gull which maybe was a Gray-headed gull (a rarity here in Italy!).
I think I'll be able to give you news about the bird checklist (60 species) during the next days.
Sorry for the drawback, but I'm soooo bad at identifiyng birds.
