Over these past two weeks, I have seen 3 new species. The New Holland Honeyeater I saw in a small park in Pakenham. The crested pigeon, which I expected to get a lot earlier in the year, were foraging in the front yard. Finally, I saw the red fox cross the road near a busy intersection in Narre Warren and run off into the bush’s. My bird total will only go up by 1 as the Muscovy Duck I previously counted, should not of been added.

Trying to recover from illness has limited additions for a couple of weeks, only adding

Window birding has been fun, even if no additions; some good counts such as 5 buzzards, 5 jays, 3+ siskins, and 2 chaffinchs. Also 2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers.

A field trip today to Loggerheads Country Park saw me acquire my second butterfly and some other inverts:
(We did manage to survey lots of interesting aquatic river inverts but nothing to species level)

Also looking back through my photos from Costa Rica, I realized the animal I had at the time identified as Crab-eating Raccoon was in fact a Northern Raccoon. Unfortunate, but my mammal total for this year remains unchanged by this.
