Saw some kangaroos in a paddock on a recent drive into the country. Hardly surprising, I guess.

17. Eastern grey kangaroo Macropus giganteus

Wedding planning is taking up a lot of my time (and persistent northerlies have meant that a lot of the usual spring migrants have been scarce-ish in London this year). However, a few from around the flat and from a little twitch yesterday evening.

Birds
185. Temminck's Stint (Calidris temminckii)
186. Common Swift (Apus apus)
187. Common Tern (Sterna hirundo)
188. Common Reed Warbler (Acrocephalus scirpaceus)

Chiming in here again - wedding planning still continues to heavily limit my birding time! But with the added benefit of now beginning to plan our honeymoon to Indonesia - so my 2026 list will be significantly better, I hope!

Birds
189. Eurasian Sparrowhawk
190. Western House Martin
191. Northern Gannet
192. Black Redstart

We're also going to Austria for a little bit after the wedding - as a 'mini-moon' - so hopefully will get some nice Alpine birds around Innsbruck - and if anyone has any tips for seeing hamsters in the cemetery in Vienna - I'd love to hear them.

I've become so desperate for new state birds that I took a canoe out on Lake Michigan today to go for Piping Plover. This is probably a really bad idea but I lived, and got my plovers! Plus another bonus bird (not new for my state list though)

Birds
266. White-rumped Sandpiper Calidris fuscicollis
267. Piping Plover Charadrius melodus
Birds
268. Prairie Warbler Setophaga discolor

Yesterday I went on a whale watching tour from Sydney Harbour. Unfortunately my camera decided not to work just as the boat left the harbour, but I was still able to get reasonable views of these species. I was hoping for more seabirds but I can't complain!
Mammals

11. Southern Greater Glider (Petauroides volans)
12. Southern Brown Bandicoot (Isoodon obesulus)

I just realised I counted Little Corella twice, so with today’s new bird I am on 121.

121. Australasian Gannet (Morus serrator)
Birds
122. Black-browed Albatross (Thalassarche melanophris)

Pleasant walk this afternoon through the Gorden Rolfe Reserve, a nearby bushland reserve that was in my zone for COVID, but which I had not visited since. Eastern yellow robins were displaying well. Total of 12 bird species seen.
