Species I missed included Chinese crocodile lizard, Common chuckwalla, Red-eared slider (all due to hibernation) and potentially the Utilia spinytail iguana, though I don't know if it still is on show. The vivarium that used to house a Basilisk rattlesnake is being reconstructed so that was another missing species, however it may contain a different species in the future. Along with the soon-arriving Slender-snouted crocs that's everything Blijdorp has to offer in terms of reptiles.

That Blijdorp's reptile collection now consists of just 26 species is extraordinary (even if there may have been additional species that Kevin was unable to see).

I agree with you, I also remember the times the Riviera Hall was packed full of enclosures which contained loads of the rarest reptiles - and more common ones ! Also they were famous for their breeding-results archieved with many of these species !
A real pitty that so many species are not on show anymore :(.

What happened to the Rivièrahal is terrible indeed. I only saw it once before it got changed entirely (Which is back when I was a little kid, so I don't remember much about it anymore), but whatever state it used to be in, it can't be any worse than this awfully-themed, mediocre playground... But hey, we're not here to complain about zoo areas.
I just hope that with new possible projects they add more smaller terraria for their reptiles, of which currently a large portion is either behind the scenes or incorrectly still on ZTL.

Anyways, I found some other sources stating the Cobra was indeed Naja Naja, and it seems most logical pattern-wise, so I suppose that's settled.

Visited AquaZoo Friesland yesterday, resulting in a humble amount of four more species.

We missed out on some species, however, like Schneider's skink, Pancake tortoise and Guatemalan spiny-tailed iguana (For on-screen stuff, as most zoos artis has a lot of their species behind the scenes)

First zoo of the year was Artis yesterday, with Vision. Missed out on a lot of the turtles because they were behind the scenes (due to the weather possibly?), which adds up to a total of 36 species. :)

1) Common agama (Agama agama)

3) Common chuckwalla (Sauromalus ater)

36) Greater Madagascar day gecko (Phelsuma grandis)

Special thanks to Kevin for the help identifying some of these, by the way! Artis' signage leaves much to be desired. Wonderful zoo, though!

Anyways, quick question. Close to my place, there's a shopping center, with like a... 10m long aquarium in it? The species list of it changes every few months, but I have seen some tropical turtle species in it before. Would that count for this list? It's not really a zoo, but it is a public place with animals in captivity, so that kind of makes it a zoo? Haha.

I'm afraid I can't make those count to avoid any doubt about which species you have seen. Mainly because facilities like that are not listed on Zootierliste and thus can't be checked. I think a similar question was asked in the http://www.zoochat.com/38/2016-zoochat-uk-challenge-433501/ topic which Shorts probably gave a more concrete answer on. Since we'll be sticking to the same rules we are also following this one. ;)

Valid point (Though I could provide photographic evidence, whereas everyone could just add things on ZTL haha), not like the 1 or 2 species would matter anyways, plus I definitely understand it isn't a zoo ;)

Anyways, I'm going to try and visit Aquatopia tomorrow (And perhaps Antwerp again, if I have time left) for another couple additions to the list :D

EDIT: Went to both!

AQUATOPIA: (By the way, don't go there. I found it an overall bad experience, plus it costs 15 EUR for something you can easily see in under an hour)

14) Common green iguana (Iguana iguana)
87) Boa constrictor (Boa constrictor)
88) Corn snake (Pantherophis guttatus)
89) Florida softshell turtle (Apalone ferox)

93) Eastern river cooter (Pseudemys concinna)
94) Florida redbelly turtle (Pseudemys nelsoni)
95) Pond slider (Trachemys scripta)

(Did not see Black&White tegu, Black tegu and Pig-nosed turtle, no real indication of them being present in the collection either. Perhaps they're behind the scenes, perhaps they're gone, or perhaps they were misidentified? Who knows.)

ANTWERP:
96) Malagasy tree boa (Sanzinia madagascariensis)

(Still missed out on the Australian water dragon, and was able to confirm the species of turtle with the caimans being Elseya branderhorsti, Branderhorst's/Southern New Guinea snapping turtle. Edited my first post accordingly)

EDIT: Couldn't edit first post accordingly. "2) New guinea snapping turtle (Myuchelys novaeguineae)" is now "2) Southern New Guinea snapping turtle (Elseya branderhorsti)."
