The Oustalet's chameleon was in the first straight hallway, in a relatively big terrarium on the left. Meller's were further down the line, where the hall turned left there is a small 'opening' in the right with exhibits for either reticulated pythons or boa constrictors, and then a very vertical exhibit with water at the bottom, that held the Meller's chameleon and a Budgett's frog. Both chameleon individuals were very large, and I only saw one of both species.

I have a lot more reptiles to add from recent visits to Burgers Zoo, both zoos in Berlin, Leipzig, Wuppertal etc., so expect those soon :D

I won't have a chance of getting anywhere *near* the total of people actually living on the continent, but as I plan to visit Germany again later this year I may submit my reptile total from that trip to this challenge for a little bit of fun :p

Finally decided to get around to this :p as I said, it is just for fun as my total is not going to increase beyond this point, considering I am not going to be returning to Germany this year, nor visiting the Low Countries!

You missed the Giant girdled lizards ( Smaug ( Cordylus giganteus ) at Hagenbeck - Hamburg ???

Nice list, TLD!

Visited Dierenpark De Oliemeulen today, and was able to add another few to my list!

De Oliemeulen:
246) Mourning gecko, Lepidodactylus lugubris
247) Diving lizard, Uranoscodon superciliosus
248) Henkel's leaf-tailed gecko, Uroplatus henkeli
249) New Caledonia giant gecko, Rhacodactylus leachianus
250) Gorongosa girdled lizard, Smaug mossambicus
251) Black-headed monitor, Varanus tristis
252) Beautiful pit viper, Trimeresurus venustus
253) Crocodile monitor, Varanus salvadorii

Certainly a very nice, though small, collection!

Checked my notes - I *did* see the species in question so my final total should be 71 :)

Just discovered I forgot 1 species which I have seen in 2 collections this year ( SeaLife Blanckenberge and Wildlife Adventures - Emmen :
179 ) Green turtle ( Chelonia mydas )

Yesterday I discovered yet another species at the Oliemeulen which is still not in my list. I've seen it in the past at the Oliemeulen but then it disappeared from the collection ( died ?, behind the scenes ? ), but now it is on display again:
180 ) New Caledonian giant gecko ( Rhacodactylus laechianus )
( see http://www.zoochat.com/1620/new-caledonian-giant-gecko-464998/ )

Yesterday I had a great day at Rotterdam Zoo and can add some "new" reptilians to the 2016-list:
181 ) Hawkbill turtle ( Eretmochelys imbricata )
182 ) Lesser Antillean iguana ( Iguana delicatissima )
183 ) Slender-snouted crocodile ( Crocodylus cataphractus )
184 ) Californian kingsnake ( Lampropeltis californiae )
185 ) Gopher snake ( Pituophis melanoleucus )
186 ) Rhinoceros snake ( Rhynchophis boulengeri )
187 ) Indian cobra ( Naja naja )

Just think about howmany more this had been just 5 - 10 years ago :( ! In the Rivierra hall for example not a single species seen !!!

Just discovered I've forgotten 1 species which I've seen at Rotterdam Zoo :
188 ) Yellow anaconda ( Eunectes notaeus )

Yesterday at Artis I was looking for one of the species I missed on my first visit this year. t the Reptilian House I again was not succesfull in finding it but later I went into the former Hippo House - now indoor enclosure for Gorillas - and discovered several tortoise-species are kept here aswell !
On my first visit this year ( together with devilfish ) we forgot to go into the "Gorilla House"and therefor we missed this species and the Galapagos and Radiated tortoises and the Rhino iguanas.
This species is kept in Europe only at Artis and I can't remember ever having seen it but now I can add it to the 2016 list :
189 ) Speckled Cape tortoise ( Homopus signatus )

( will up-load some pictures of it at the Artis Gallery )

Apparently the following is now species-level as opposed to just a subspecies of Dwarf croc, so;

Wuppertal ZG:
255) Western dwarf crocodile, Osteolaemus sp. nov.

EDIT: Fixed :p

(Still missed out on the Australian water dragon, and was able to confirm the species of turtle with the caimans being Elseya branderhorsti, Branderhorst's/Southern New Guinea snapping turtle. Edited my first post accordingly)

EDIT: Couldn't edit first post accordingly. "2) New guinea snapping turtle (Myuchelys novaeguineae)" is now "2) Southern New Guinea snapping turtle (Elseya branderhorsti)."

In "de Harpij" -magazine of the Dutch Zoo-keepers association - which came today, an article is publiced about this species with which Antwerp had the world-first breeding in 2014. Some intresting facts from the article :
- the pair came from a privat keeper and came to Rotterdam Zoo in 1989
- in 2008 it was send to Antwerp Zoo
- in 2014 14 eggs were laid and all 14 hatched - world-first-breeding !
- in 2015 10 eggs were laid from which 8 hatched
- 7 young from the first nest have been send to Wroclaw Zoo ( Poland )
