Darn. Like you I also couldn't find the lowland anoa (a species I also missed at the Night Safari).
on my 2013 thread, baboon said the anoa had died. Did you see tufted deer (off-display when I was there), or the large mystery muntjac in with the black and Reeves' muntjacs?

The species has now been split according to the book he uses, so he can't be sure exactly which species I saw.
 
If you want to be that technical, how sure is Thylo that the American Bison he saw at Queens is not one of the vast majority with domestic cattle blood? :p

I suppose that is indeed a good point. Of course, all American Bison in captivity apart from a select few (to my knowledge, all off-exhibit atm) so this would mean no one can count the species on their lists.

TP Berlin has pure of both subspecies, I know that; actually, I think all the Wood in Europe are pure.

I'm not sure on the situation with Wood Bison but to my knowledge almost all the Plains Bison are impure, especially in captivity apart from Bronx's off-show herd and the wild-caught ones going to Oakland(?). This should translate to the European population unless all the founders were brought over before the hybridization in the early 1900's?

Even then I'm sure American animals were imported at some point, no?

There's no such thing as a pure Wood Bison anymore. Even the ones from the remote reserve in Canada show Plains genes.
