Given that it is almost exactly halfway through the year, I think ThylacineAlive should be giving a table of results...

A visit to BestZoo in the Netherlands provided me with yet another species :

93) Common green magpie ( Cissa chinensis ) ( see Common green magpie | ZooChat )

Last weekend I visited Rotterdam Zoo and had hoped to be able to add a good number of species to the list. I knew in the Crocodile-hall / Hyrax-"house" I had hoped for Common bulbul ( seen earlier this month in the wild in Turkey :) ) and Emerald glossy starling but when I went into the house I discovered all the plants and trees AND all the birds had been removed and the keepers I asked didn't know where the birds where right now ( :( ! ).
So in total I only saw 2 ( ! ) new species for the list :

76. Shining Honeycreeper, Cyanerpes lucidus
Might you have meant purple honeycreeper instead? ZTL says Wuppertal has the only shining in Europe, though as they're similar there could be an error (either with ZTL or zoo's signs).

If someone has better information then we can get to the bottom of it, but otherwise I'm more inclined to trust the sign, which definitely said Shining. I don't seem to have any pictures of it but I did find something else I can't ID.

Sorry to be pedantic, but are you sure about white-headed bulbul at Basel as well? I believe the sign might have said white-headed bulbul as a common name, but referred to the white-headed form of Asian black bulbul, Hypsipetes leucocephalus, instead. (note that "leucocephalus" literally translates into "white head"). Furthermore, this picture (Himalayan black bulbul | ZooChat) is of an Asian black bulbul in Basel.
Hypsipetes thompsoni is currently not present in European collections, though I'd be very pleasantly surprised if they are!

Very nice list, though! I'm very curious about the rest, and about what will come in the future. ;)

A very nice day in olmen (and an hour-long stop in antwerp after, though that didn't get me any new passerines) resulted in a couple more additions:

Olmense Zoo, 20/07/2017:
173) Black-throated magpie-jay, Calocitta colliei
174) Long-tailed glossy starling, Lamprotornis caudatus
175) Sahel paradise-whydah, Vidua orientalis

A new bird for Warsaw Zoo:

57) White-crowned Robin-chat (Cossypha albicapillus)

Also a rescued bird held (probably temporarily) in their bird rescue centre:

58) Fieldfare (Turdus pilaris)

A few additions from last week from some zoos in Devon (Living Coasts, Paignton, and Exmoor)

- A Song Thrush was seen at Living Coasts, would this be a genuine captive bird (as is listed on zootierliste) or a wild bird?

59) Red-cowled Cardinal (Paroaria dominicana)
60) Emerald Starling (Lamprotornis iris)
61) Orange-headed Ground-thrush (Geokichla citrina)
62) Grey-backed Thrush (Turdus hortulorum)

64) Scarlet-faced Liocichla (Liocichla ripponi)
65) Sumatran Laughingthrush (Garrulax bicolor)
66) Superb Starling (Lamprotornis superbus)

In a classic example of a mathematicians answer - both :p

It, along with a few other UK native birds signposted at Living Coasts, is a wild bird (or possibly, at this point, a descendant from the wild) which got into the aviary back when it was originally being constructed and was never able to leave. Another such species is European Robin, by the by.

So, countable for this thread? Maybe @ThylacineAlive should decide.

I'd personally say they are countable - but yeah, best leave the final call to Thylo.
