Oh my, you really need to get to North America, as a lot of these species are in many collections (except maybe the Guadalupe Fur Seal). In fact I’ve seen 4 of these in the wild (Coyote, Red Wolf, Grey Fox and American Badger).

I would disagree with that statement. Of the species TLD highlighted I'd say only Red Wolf is common (at least in my experience, especially considering most of those were lifers for me).

Your right I shouldn’t have said they were all common. Coyote, Grey Fox and American Badgers aren’t too common, but I’ve seen them in multiple collections. Sea Otters are definitely rare, but I know that Minnesota and Point Defiance have them. I’m not sure about the Weasel, Kit Fox or Island Fox. I assumed that the Spotted-Necked Otters were common but maybe that’s because they’re at my local zoo.

I've seen Grey Fox at a few collections and I believe the badgers are more common in non-AZA and smaller zoos. Coyotes I think are more common out West than over here. Sea Otters are about but not common. Kit Fox and Island Fox seem to be kept here and there in Western zoos, as for the weasel this is the only holding that I know of. The clawless otter is kept in two or three US zoos max, I don't think Spotted-Necked are that much more common.

In my experience, American Badgers are very common in zoos. Maybe it's just a Wisconsin thing, but I doubt it.

You may be right, but I had never seen one until I got to Arizona. Certainly none afaik in northeastern US zoos or Florida zoos. Could just be one of those species which are kept almost exclusively within their native range? Are badgers in zoos wild rescues?

Some of them, but I believe most are captive-bred, especially with how tame I have seen some of these individuals to be.

Not certain about the one from Ragunan - which I think is Sunda but cannot be sure - but the one from Taman Safari Bogor is definitely Prionailurus javanensis javanensis - which means I have another photo for the ID thread, incidentally.

I'm sure I'll pick up the mainland species somewhere, so no need to worry too much about the Ragunan animal.

Where are the ID pointers by the way?
 
The key distinguishing feature between Mainland and Sunda - so far as I can tell - is that the latter have small solid spots whilst the former have larger blotches filled with a lighter coloration, although I have also observed that Sunda tend to have longer, more low-slung bodies too.

As for the difference between Javan and the various other subspecies, I am given to understand that the Javan subspecies has more of an overall greyish pelage when compared with the other taxa, but has a more richly-coloured and marked face.
