20190107_153633 three-toed amphiuma - amphiuma tridactylum.jpg

2 species which are ( were ) kept on earlier visits, not seen this time :
- Three-striped dart frog ( Ameerega trivittatus ) : still signed to be kept with the Tri-colored dart frogs but couldn't find it and a keeper which I asked about the species told me that she also hadn't seen the single animal already not anymore for some time...
- Red-punckted burrowing frog ( Leptodactylus laticeps ) : the enclosure in which this species was kept previously was completly re-decorated and now is home to a group of Painted dart frogs :(.

Ameerega trivittatus, Leptodactylus laticeps

That's a pity! I was thinking about a day trip to western Brabant this week, probably in May, for revisits to Oliemeulen (after fourtheen years) and De Evenaar (for the new arrived Costa Rican squirrels) and a visit to De Aarde, and those two species were surely on my wish list, next to Amphiuma tridactylum and Ranitomeya lamasi.
