ZooChat Challenge Global 2022

I didn't know the zoo had this species, they kept Parma Wallaby unsigned in the Koala complex when I visited both in 2018 and 2021.

~Thylo
They had Parma Wallaby in there till I think fall 2021 and then when I visited in December, there was a male koala. This was the first time I saw the bettongs in there, and they were signed too.

Fair enough, just wanted to make sure you weren't missing/misidentifying a species!

Finally Here comes my First Zoo of the Year. Some noshows and the closed Fruit Bat House, but Stil i Managed to See Most of the Species.

Bad Mergentheim Wildlifepark visited on 02.03.2022

1. Great Grey Owl (Strix nebulosa)
2. Snowy Owl (Bubo scandiacus)

4. Brown Rat (Rattus norvegicus)
5. North American Beaver (Castor canadensis)
6. Common Racoon (Procyon lotor)
7. Arctic Fox (Vulpes lagopus)

Is this a zoo? From their website it looks like they're a veterinary hospital that has a visitor center where they do animal encounters.

~Thylo
There were at least 16-17 species of Reptiles, Amphibians, Birds, and Mammals on exhibit at the time of my visit, which would constitute some sort of a zoo in my book.

Just a couple to add from a second visit
26 February Shepreth Wildlife Park

78 Clouded leopard (Neofelis nebulosa)
79 Pardine genet (Genetta pardina)

I know there has been mention on zoochat previously that these may be a different species, that is what they are signed as and listed as on zootierliste.

Does Wildwood still have that native bat aviary that nobody is ever going to see anything in during visitor hours?

Had a great time today at the newly opened building Empire of Cats/Creatures of the Night at Berlin zoo . If one consider ABH, the German capital is once again Heaven for the Carnivora lovers with around 50 taxa . Berlin Zoo utilizing the given space the best way possible and many of the small Predators have beautifuly designed exhibits. Some of the Big cats, on the other side, are not so lucky. Hopefully the plans for expanding their outdoor space will work out. Had four no-shows, but hardly can complain.

Tierpark Berlin is changing his face really fast these days. Many big projects are on the way and the animals shifting their enclousures all the time. I saw the 4 Gnus, opposite the Reedbuck exhibit, where one more baby was born :) Besides a lot of offspring, there are two new exciting inhabitants - Balabac chevrotain and the Guianan bearded saki. I couldn't find the Bush Dogs. Their exhibit is occupied by Maned Wolves now. White-bearded Masked Palm Civet didn't show up either.
